Dr. Omer Munshi is the primary physician at MMP and he is double Board certified in both Interventional Pain Medicine and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. About Dr. Munshi

Omer Munshi was born in San Fransico, California but was raised in the state capital Richmond, Virginia. It is a small-midsized town with its own historic charm. Dr. Munshi has many great childhood memories from Richmond. Since moving away from Richmond he has lived in New York and Missouri. He moved to Houston for Residency and fell in love with the city’s diversity, culture, and enrichment. He currently lives in Sugar Land with his family.

On his off time Dr. Munshi enjoys spending time with his family, watching movies, and of course watching FOOT BALL!

Education

Dr. Munshi went to college in the small town of historic Williamsburg known for its reputation for sound and competitive education. He graduated William and Mary with a major in Chemistry.

Thereafter he immediately entered Medical School at St. George’s University. He completed his rotations in Jamaica, NY.Dr. Munshi received straight’s A’s in all of his rotations and was commended on his multiple “highly recommended” Attending recommendations.

He enjoyed his 1 year of internal medicine Internship at St. Mary’s Health Center in St. Louis, MO. He is grateful to St. Mary’s for providing him a sound background in Internal Medicine.

Thereafter he entered Residency in the field of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM & R). It is an Accredited Residency program through Baylor College of Medicine. Here he had the opportunity to train with highly qualified teachers and rotate through TIRR Rehab Hospital which is well known for being one of the best rehab hospitals in the country. During his 4th year of Residency Dr. Munshi received the honors of being selected as the Administrative Chief Resident.

Dr. Munshi then followed up his PM & R training with an accredited Anesthesiology based Interventional Pain Medicine Fellowship at UT –San Antonio. He had the privilege of working with Dr. Eckman and also a former senior resident from Baylor Dr. Nagpal. He had the honor of sharing Chief Fellow responsibilities during his fellowship year as well.
